Actually feel a bit sorry for the barcodes. Promise of money bag owners, just waiting on approval from PL that’s been dragging on and on, and now fallen in a heap probably totally screwing the clubs plans for next season as well. They now have 7 weeks to buy and sell players and plan for next season with an owner who probably won’t want to spend.

The PL has left a club that plays in there competition in a very bad position. And they should be held accountable IMO. This should have been sorted months ago.

On the plus side for us.....Think we may have a cast iron relegation candidate already.

I was at a Stag in Newcastle last year and met a lot of older Geordies who also saw us to be the closest to them, the Newcastle of the South and them the West Ham of the North. 60000 loyal supporters shat on by owners since time begun. Lurching from one disaster to another, relegation every few years etc. After a few pints we were bonded. The power of adversity and endless disappointment to bring people together. :-)

Lets - it can't move to us for the time being, fella, as the problem with the Newcastle takeover was clearly the ultimate ownership of the club and the fact that MBS (allegedly liable for the murder of a journalist, among other controversies) does not pass the "fit and proper" person test for ownership.

Until the PIF fudge that arrangement, which no doubt they will try to do (and they will probably succeed: there are ways around it), then the fund is not going to be buying a Prem club any time soon.

I guess the consortium were tipped off that they failed the fit and proper owner test.

Our owners are so useless they would probably end up selling up to the only rich Saudi who doesn't want to spend any £.

Not holding my breath on this one moving to us.

Liverpool is a great city these days - a lot better than when I lived there in the 90s as a young hack.

Proper city, Liverpool, with the most distinctive, unique culture for a city in England outside of London.

Other cities are OK (Newcastle, Manchester, Bristol), but many just seem identical these days. Same shops, same restaurants, same layout, same developments, same terrible clubs, pubs. Liverpool bucks the trend a bit, as the capital does.

Love Glasgow and Belfast, too.

Newcastle is a great city and consistently rated a great place to live and work.

It's not a shithole like Middlesbrough, Sunderland and Liverpool.

I struggled to see what the attraction in buying someone like Newcastle would be. You can’t imagine they have ever been to the city.

They again they were clearly more interested in them than us.

We can laugh but in many respects we are the Newcastle of the South and they the West Ham of the North.....

Both biggish clubs with Years of underachievement, relegations, mismanagement, cunt owners hated by the fans, regularly on the end of bad decisions on the pitch, succession of failed managers, bad transfers and millions wasted, yet a decent sized support base who turn up for the same old shit year in year out....

At least Newcastle haven’t sold St James Park (Yet!!) and moved to the like of the Gateshead athletics stadium………..

Their fans also though this :
She added: "Everybody was thinking we could be the next Manchester City, although caveated by what's come to light now, that nothing really good happens with Newcastle."
